# Manage a client account

> Review client information, access and account controls from the workspace account list.

Use **Accounts** in the workspace to find the client you want to manage. Confirm the account name and ID before changing access or billing.

## Review and update details

1. Open the account's details from the Accounts list.
2. Review **Account name** and **Client information** using the fields below. Make the required changes and save.
3. Reopen the details to confirm the values persisted. For a GHL account, changing Assistable account details is not a substitute for verifying its GHL connection.

## Account detail fields

| Field | Meaning and accepted value |
| - | - |
| Account name | Required name shown for this Assistable account; cannot be blank |
| First name | Optional client contact's first name |
| Last name | Optional client contact's last name |
| Email | Optional client contact email; a nonempty value must be a valid email address |
| Phone number | Optional client contact phone number |

Use **Copy account ID** when a support request or API workflow needs the Assistable account identifier. It is different from a GHL location ID. Timezone is not an editable field in this drawer. After clearing an optional field, reopen the drawer to check the result; a blank submission can leave the previous value in place.

## Choose the correct control

| Task | Where to start | Check afterward |
| - | - | - |
| Invite a client or review members | Account actions → **Manage access** | Correct member appears for this account |
| Configure resource settings | Account actions → **Manage limits** | Reopen **Account limits** and confirm saved values |
| Customize visible sections | Account navigation-permissions action | Check the portal as an account-only user |
| Configure client usage prices | Account actions → **Billing** | Review saved rebilling settings and a resulting ledger entry |
| Require the portal admin password | **Lock account** | Check portal entry in a fresh client session |

See [user management](/v3/guides/accounts/invite-users), [permissions](/v3/guides/accounts/navigation-permissions), and [billing records](/v3/guides/billing/review-activity). After changing limits or client prices, reopen the controls to confirm the saved values and verify the resulting usage behavior.

## Avoid common account mix-ups

An account invitation grants access to the client account; it does not make the person a member of the parent agency workspace or create a GHL user. An account lock is a portal-entry control; do not use it as proof that calls, automations or API access have stopped.

If an update reports failure after a save, reopen the account and inspect the current state before repeating the action. If the account is unavailable, confirm the selected workspace and whether it has been archived.
