# Check a number’s reputation and call activity

> Read provider reputation, refresh a result, and compare it with recorded call outcomes.

Open **Number health & call activity** from a number's row to inspect its provider reputation, recorded call activity, and routing details.

## Check a number

1. Open **Numbers** in the intended account.
2. Select the number's **Number health & call activity** icon.
3. Read the **Reputation** result, its provider, and its checked time.
4. Select **Check again** if you need a fresh lookup and the number is active.
5. Review **Call activity** for recorded outcomes and direction totals.
6. Review **Identity & routing** when investigating caller ID or an unexpected destination.

Refreshing requires access to manage that account's phone numbers. An archived number does not offer the same refresh control.

## Read the reputation result

| Result | Meaning |
| - | - |
| Spam flag | The named provider reports a spam flag. Other recipient networks can show different labels. |
| Suspicious | The provider reports a suspicious reputation; it is not the same as a confirmed spam flag. |
| No spam flag | The provider returned no spam flag. This does not guarantee delivery or the same label across all networks. |
| No usable result | The provider has no usable verdict. Missing data is neither a spam flag nor a clean result. |
| Lookup unavailable or latest check failed | The check failed. A previously saved result may still be displayed with its earlier time. |

A **Provider score**, if present, is the provider's value. It is not a delivery probability. Reported complaints and caller identity details are additional provider data, not a prediction of your next call.

## Compare with recorded activity

The activity panel shows the last 30 days and separates **Completed**, **Not connected**, **In progress**, and **Unknown** outcomes. Busy, failed, no-answer, and canceled calls are grouped as Not connected. A completed status is a recorded call status; it does not prove a human answered or that the assistant achieved a business goal. Daily chart dates use UTC, and the first and last days can be partial.

If reputation or connection results worsen, inspect individual call records alongside the provider result. Check whether failures share a destination, time window, source number, or routing configuration before changing numbers.

## Identity and routing states

| Field | Displayed states |
| - | - |
| Record | Active or Archived. |
| Caller ID verification | Platform-managed or Legacy provider for platform numbers; Verified, Waiting for code, Verification needed, or Status unavailable for imported numbers. |
| Caller ID name | Configured name when reported; Enabled · name not reported, Not configured, or Not reported when the name is unavailable. |
| Inbound route | Forwarding destination, assigned assistant name, Assigned assistant when only its ID is known, or No assistant assigned. |

Activity also separates inbound, outbound, web, and unknown directions when present. **Recorded duration** shows known minutes and how many calls have a duration; missing duration is not treated as a zero-length call. Unattributable calls are excluded from the number's totals.

## If information is missing

Retry a failed reputation lookup using **Check again**. If the provider still cannot be reached, preserve the last result's timestamp when sharing it with support. If call activity fails to load, use the panel's retry control; an unavailable panel is not a zero-call result.

For a routing problem, open **Manage** under **Identity & routing** and review the number's current assignment. Then repeat an [incoming](/v3/guides/calling/incoming-calls) or [outgoing](/v3/guides/calling/outbound-calls) test for the affected direction.
