# Connect GoHighLevel

> Authorize a GoHighLevel agency or location in the correct Assistable workspace.

Connect GoHighLevel so an Assistable account can use the authorized location's contacts, calendars and conversations. Connecting an agency and selecting a calendar for an assistant are separate steps.

## Before you start

Open the Assistable workspace that should own the client account. Use a GoHighLevel login with permission to authorize the intended agency or location. If the location already belongs to another Assistable workspace, resolve that ownership before attempting another setup.

## Connect

1. Open **Accounts → New account → Connect GoHighLevel**.
2. In the GHL authorization flow, choose the intended agency or location and review the requested access.
3. Finish authorization and return to Accounts. If you authorized an agency, use **New account → Import installed locations** to select its installed locations.
4. Open the intended account. Confirm its business details and inspect **Sub-account connection** in the portal header.
5. Wait for **Connected**, then test the feature you will use. For booking, select the assistant's calendar and complete a test appointment.

## Choose the authorization scope

| Choice in the connection flow | What to do next |
| - | - |
| Agency | Authorize the intended agency, then explicitly import the installed locations you want in this workspace |
| Location | Authorize that specific client location and open its resulting account |

Use the login and permissions required by GHL for the intended choice. An agency connection does not automatically select every location for import. [Workspace setup](/v3/guides/getting-started/workspace-setup#import-controls) explains every import control; the [connection status reference](/v3/guides/troubleshooting/ghl-connection) covers checking, refreshing and error states.

## If the connection fails

* **Not connected:** complete authorization for this account; a connection to a different location does not cover it.
* **Token expired:** try **Refresh from Agency** when this account belongs to your connected agency.
* **Access revoked:** reconnect GHL and authorize the correct location.
* **Connection misconfigured:** contact support with the account and location IDs and the displayed error.
* **Couldn't reach GoHighLevel:** retry the check before replacing a working connection.

Do not paste OAuth tokens into support messages. See [OAuth troubleshooting](/v3/guides/troubleshooting/ghl-connection) and [calendar booking](/v3/guides/workflows/book-appointments).
