# GoHighLevel connection walkthrough

> Choose the written setup for a GHL connection, agency import, or portal menu link.

Start with the setup that matches the result you need. The guides below cover the connection and the check to run afterward.

| Task | Guide | Result to verify |
| - | - | - |
| Connect one GHL location | [Single-location connection](/v3/guides/ghl/connect-location) | The intended location passes the connection check |
| Connect an agency and import installed locations | [Workspace setup](/v3/guides/getting-started/workspace-setup) | Selected locations appear in the correct workspace |
| Open Assistable inside GHL | [Custom menu link](/v3/guides/ghl/menu-link) | The client user enters the intended account |
| Automate authorized location onboarding | [Provision through the API](/v3/guides/ghl/provision-via-api) | The returned account ID belongs to the intended workspace and location |
| Move an existing account from another workspace | [Workspace setup](/v3/guides/getting-started/workspace-setup#new-account-choices) | The source workspace approves the transfer and the account appears in the destination |
| Restore a failed connection | [OAuth troubleshooting](/v3/guides/troubleshooting/ghl-connection) | GHL accepts a fresh connection check |

## Start here

1. Select the correct Assistable workspace.
2. Open **Accounts → New account → Connect GoHighLevel** and authorize the intended agency or location.
3. Import selected installed locations if you connected an agency.
4. Open an account and check **Sub-account connection**. Continue only with the intended location selected.
5. Test your next task, such as [booking an appointment](/v3/guides/workflows/book-appointments).

Connecting GHL does not automatically select an assistant's calendar or invite every client user. Review [account access](/v3/guides/accounts/invite-users) separately.
