An account lock adds an Admin lock screen to portal entry. It does not establish that calling, background automation or API access has been suspended.

Prepare and lock the account

  1. Review the workspace admin password under Security before locking clients out. Use the workspace’s password-management controls and keep the password with the authorized administrators.
  2. In Accounts, identify the intended client and choose Lock account.
  3. Wait for the saved result. The account shows its locked state in the list or details.
  4. Open the portal as an account-only user in a fresh session. Check that Admin lock appears.
The workspace Owner, the parent provider workspace’s Owner, and authorized Assistable staff can bypass the lock. An Admin role alone does not grant that bypass. A session that already unlocked this account can also remain unlocked; it is not a useful test of a newly applied lock.

Admin password controls

A workspace Owner, Admin, or member explicitly allowed to manage workspace settings can manage this password. Account membership alone does not grant that permission. The password is a workspace security setting used by its locked client portals. It is not the client’s sign-in password.

Unlock

For a permitted user to enter a locked portal, enter the workspace admin password on Admin lock and select Unlock account. A successful unlock applies to that user’s current session. To remove the account’s lock setting, use Unlock account from the workspace Accounts action. An Invalid password error means the password was rejected. A missing or expired session requires signing in again. If the account is unavailable, verify membership and whether the account is archived. For offboarding or a security incident, review membership and the specific running services separately. See user access, navigation permissions, and chat stop controls.
